It is time to explore and experience the Dragon Kingdom– with kids (or without kids). Whether it’s the kid in you or you have kids with you, this is the best designed outdoor experience for anyone. The heavy rains have not yet started in the Spring and by October the rains will have stopped. These are the best times to explore and appreciate as the Kingdom renews itself, nature is replenished, life is regenerated, forests are lush and green, the undergrowth is rich with renewed life, the rivers are well nourished and the sun is golden and warm. These are the glorious days of the Spring and the Fall and the Kingdom of Thunder Dragon is at its most awe-inspiring and beautiful seasons.
Known as the land of the Thunder Dragon, Bhutan is a small kingdom squeezed between the two most populated countries of the world: China and India. The limit to visitors is restricted with a government regulated tour and tariff system. This policy ensures protection of its natural habitats and also that every Bhutanese benefit from the income generated by tourism. Ecologically, Bhutan is a hot spot in the Himalayas. And 65-70% of the land is decreed by law to be kept under forest cover. Clean air, pristine countryside, exotic flora, fauna and avi-fauna; unique architecture, smiling people and preserved social and cultural heritage make this kingdom an exotic and a singular destination.
On our very special trip, after taking your scenic mountain flight into the beautiful Paro Valley, you will proceed via the famous 10,000 ft high Do Chu La pass to the balmy Punakha valley — the ancient capital and the winter residence of the central Monastic body. Here you will begin your exploration as you hike and discover ancient dzongs and sites, walk in the interesting local market and explore the small town. You will also have an exciting and an enjoyable Rafting trip down the cool clear mountain river of Pho Chu before you drive back over the high pass to the mountain-rimmed capital of Thimphu.
